Here are the basics: This is a partner event with two divisions. Are you in a relationship with a fellow functional fitness practitioner? Maybe you’re married to one, maybe you’re dating one, maybe you’re not “labeling” it yet, but you’ve probably seen each other naked at some point. We have the “Actually Mating” division just for you!
But, what if you aren’t in a relationship with someone but they’re your fitness BFF? Not to worry, we have the “Just Friends” division as well.
This year we’re taking a slightly new approach to the event as well. As mentioned above there are two divisions – Actually Mating and Just Friends. For everyone. BUT, we are opening each division to same gender teams.
That means that in both divisions, all teams will be competing against one another – MM, MF, FF teams will all be in the same division. Yes, if you are in a same sex relationship, you can compete in the “Actually Mating” division. Yes, if you want to compete with a friend who is the same gender as you, you can compete in the “Just Friends” division. Yes, this will mean that MM and FF teams will be competing in the same division doing the same workouts. This WILL have an effect on how we program.
For programming – that means you will not be seeing things like max lifts, or max calories/distances on a machine. Programming will be much more traditional with the workouts. Think workouts like Fran – we are good with comparing Fran times across genders (i.e. a 2:30 Fran is impressive if done by either a male or a female).
So, get yourself a partner and get ready for a great partner event to end the season with!
There will be one written movement standard for this event, but scaling will be allowed. If you do scale a movement your team is just eliminated from prizes. Scores will still be shown on the leaderboard. ONLY the workout scaled will be denoted on the leaderboard as “scaled”. “Scaled” scores will fall below all “RX” scores on that workout. Scaled movements will still be judged on your standard.
